Clix4Kids was launched in March 2006 with the aim of both raising local awareness of the lack of sporting and leisure facilities available to the children of Wansbeck and raising finance by way of an internet based website offering local companies the opportunity to advertise on our website www.clix4kids.co.uk and making use of affiliate marketing. Clix4Kids is a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation with all money raised being intended for investment into sports and leisure facilities within our community.
OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
We aim to provide the community of Wansbeck with the opportunity to participate in a charitable project for the benefit of us all and to give them the chance to share each others thoughts concerning the lack of sports and leisure facilities available to our children. We intend to offer a variety of interesting and informative links through our website www.clix4kids.co.uk to affiliated sponsors and advertisers. We intend to be proactive in working with other local organisations in seeking fresh and innovative ideas on ways that we as a community can make a difference. We aim to develop our website over the coming months, making it a valuable source of information for our community.
ACHIEVING OUR AIMS
Only by involving the whole community and achieving large participation and usage in our website will Clix4Kids achieve it’s long term ambition of providing sports and leisure facilities of which we can be proud. To this end, we aim to achieve targets of active registered users as follows:
Target Number by the 31st October 2006: 250 Registered Users
Target Number by the 30th April 2007 500 Registered Users
Target Number by the 30th April 2008 750 Registered Users
Target Number by the 30th April 2009 1000 Registered Users
If these targets are achieved and our registered users are actively making purchases using our affiliated websites, we would anticipate that together with other income streams from local business advertising, sponsorship, donations and others, we would achieve our target of raising £50,000 by the end of our 3-year business plan. In addition to these areas of income, we will also be actively pursuing other areas of potential income such as grant funding from the Lottery Commission, Sport England etc. By the end of our 3-year business plan, we would hope that we are at an advanced stage of securing our first area of land upon which to develop what we hope would be our first leisure/sports facility.
PATRONS, TRUSTEES AND STAFF
The organisation currently has one patron and five trustees (all of whom offer their services on a voluntary basis) and a number of active volunteer helpers.
Our website is currently administered on a voluntary part-time basis by one of the trustees of Clix4Kids although it is hoped that this number will have increased by the 31st October 2006 due to the anticipated increase in community use. All decision making and planning for the future including marketing strategies and campaigning are carried out by the trustees.
OUR LONGER-TERM AMBITIONS
If our target numbers mentioned previously are achieved, our longer term ambition is to achieve our first sports/leisure facility within our community by the end of our fifth year of operation. This target may well be ambitious, but only by aiming high will we achieve our goals.
THE NEXT STAGE – WAY FORWARD
As a community, we as individuals, groups, businesses and schools have an opportunity to make a difference to the futures of our children and their children:
Individuals – can help in many ways including donations, encouraging family, friends and neighbours to use our website and posting support and comments on the website forum. Most importantly though, active usage of affiliated partner websites and purchases made via these links from our website www.clix4kids.co.uk will undoubtedly provide us with our biggest source of income.
Local Businesses – advertise on our website www.clix4kids.co.uk - a site designed to support the needs of local children, run by local people with the local community interest at heart.
Schools – encourage your pupils and their families to actively use our website and positively promote the name of Clix4Kids in everyday school life – after all, it’s in the children’s interest.
